Spell and the Gypsy

It's always when I have a million things to do. When I should be packing, writing my book, cooking dinner. The to do list is endless. I could being do everything and anything. Apart from playing around on the Internet. I don't know what it is, but I always catch myself half an hour in and wonder what the hell I'm doing. I've been doing it this morning. This time tomorrow the removal men will be here. I've done precisely nothing. Actually I lie, I've taken all the photos off the fridge...You get my point.
Anyhow, this time, it's been worthwhile. I've found a new real goodie. It's a Byron Bay based label called Spell Designs that also has a gorgeous blog to go with it. Lots of jewels and bags. Tassels and turquoise. Feathery, gypsy heaven.

Kitchen Wallpapers

I seem to come up with all my ideas in the middle of night at the moment. Last night's was that instead of having tiles in the kitchen, I want to have wallpaper with a glass splashback to protect it. It's quite a traditional, country kitchen and I want to jazz it up a bit.

Not a kitchen I know but if i suddenly become a millionaire this DeGournay paper will be top of the list

Sanderson's Vintage Roslyn wallpaper. I keep coming back to this one...

Cole & Son Frutto Proibito

Sanderson Swallows.
We have these in our house at the moment and I'm so sad to leave them behind. Quite tempted to get them again...

Countdown Begins

This time next week, we will be on our way to the new house. I got to the point last weekend where I thought it would never happen. But yesterday, a miracle happened. We actually exchanged. After months of anticipation and waiting, when it finally happened, I thought there would be fireworks, jumping around the room with excitement, a bit of screaming. Instead I stood there in a complete daze - despite being surrounded by about fifty screaming children in the 'soft play' are of my gym - unable to quite work out what to do next. I think I should probably be packing things up already, making lists, calling councils etc. Chaz and I printed off a 'things to do when you move house' list from the internet and now it's become my bible. I made a start last night, obviously beginning with the most important - redirecting my magazine subscriptions. I just knew that trying to talk to BT or the gas man would require readings from places I don't know exist and send me into a melt down. Not what we need.
So today, when the Cub and I aren't puddle jumping, I will be surgically glued to the phone. And maybe doing a bit of bathroom research at the same time. The only structural things we need to do in the new house are bathroom related. Putting a shower in, taking out a bath, proper heavy stuff. I think I might start gently with wallpaper...

Bring out the Ballet

I always secretly think that there's still time yet for me to become a ballerina. It's one of those things that I've always wanted to do. I did try. Quite hard, when I was little but don't think I was very good. Actually saying that, I watched the BBC series Agony and Ecstasy of the Royal National Ballet last week and think maybe I'm not quite cut out for it. Perhaps in another life.
J Crew's new campaign is the latest fuel for my day dreams. They've shot real life ballerina's wearing their own label cashmere in the Yakobson Dance Studio in Saint Petersburg, Russia. They're photographed warming up in the studio, in gorgeous full on tutus and tights with the J Crew jumpers on top. I for one, am totally sold. Maybe these new cashmere creations will bring me closer to realising my dreams?
