Sarah's Wardrobe

I always thought the size of my wardrobe was quite impressive.  Until I met my soon-to-be sister in law, Sarah, whose collection of shoes, clothes, hats and bags is so sensational it requires three different locations to house it all.  She does run a vintage clothing business - 'Sarah's Wardrobe'- so technically most of it is of course, 'work'.  

She's just been featured on the very  brilliant website 'Never Underdressed' which shows her slinking around looking visionary in pieces she's collected on her travels around the globe.  If you haven't already found her blog and/or website, have a look for some wardrobe inspiration.

Few and Far

Yesterday's outing without the cub was to the wonderful Few and Far. There's something about it that makes you feel slightly virtuous when you leave, like you've done something worthwhile with your time. I dont get that guilty feeling I sometimes get when I've frittered yet another hour of my very precious time off in Topshop. I think it's because, despite being a shop, it feels like a very cool museum. The owner, Priscilla Carluccio, ex-wife of Antonio-king-of-pasta-Carluccio and sister of Terrance Conran, completely re-does the shop every three months. Four times a year she creates a totally new theme and fills it with gorgeous trinkets and clothes from India, France, Morocco, Italy and the UK. Priscilla wanted to create a shop that inspired her customers. She likes her customers to come in, have a potter, have a coffee and chat to her staff. For some reason the word 'eclectic' seems to annoy me but in this case I make an exception and think it's the perfect adjective to describe Few and Far. Prices range from £1 to £10,000 and there really is something for everyone. Even the Cub could find something he'd like. There's toy section for him, crafts, beautiful antique jewels and floaty clothes for me and a hardware store for Chaz. Perfect for a family outing. The next re-vamp is in the beginning of May, so if you want to find me, you'll know where I'll be.

Secret St Tropez

Every sunday outside the village of Grimaud at you can find the wonderful flee market/brocante, Jas de Roberts.

There are a couple of stalls that I head straight for each week. One where I find ribbon; still on their original spools and for a bargain 2 euros, I cant resist buying them every time despite having no actual use for them.

Another lovely lady always has a great selection of vintage ticking, grainsacks and random bits of fabrics she's syphoned off from crumbling French Chateaux that I cant seem to live without.

Parking is surprisingly free and make sure you go early as the stall holders start packing up by midday.

Trinity

This is my favourite shop in St Tropez. Stocking all of my favourite French designers under one roof; Isabel Marant, Ginnette ny, et vous, Antik Batik and Vanessa Bruno makes leaving here empty handed virtually impossible. It's owned and run by the lovely Jean-Pascal and his ultra chic girlfriend Isabel, who buy the best pieces of each collection.
