Friday Flies

I woke up this morning with a tarantula hovering above my head. Something that I'm going to have to adjust to with living in the country I know but for the past few weeks, it feels slightly like we're living on the arachnophobia film set. There are eight legged creatures everywhere I look.

Whilst on the insect theme, I adore these fly art works. Maybe their creator would like to come up collect some of our spiders for his next collection?

Not Another Bill

I know I'm biased but I do think that my brother Ned's business, 'Not Another Bill', is genius. We've nearly been in the new house for a month and I haven't found one nice thing in the post box. There've been about 9000 letters from Sky. Welcoming notes from our new Council with a 'PS, don't forget you owe us a million pounds'. The Local phone books, Yellow pages. You get the picture. Dull dull dullsville. So I think it's about time that things change around here. I am going to sign up for a whole year of sending myself secret treats. As Ned says, amazingly fantastic surprises, not boring bills. What more could you want?

Blackberry Milkshakes

I've always had a bit of a weak spot for a milkshake but for the past few weeks, they're all I can think of. Imagine the joy when I found a whole shop in my new local town purely dedicated to these wondrous taste sensations.
When the Cub's not looking so keen on an outing I have to make do with a homemade one instead. We went for a wholesome family walk yesterday and came home with pockets full of blackberries. They were meant to be going into some kind of apple and blackberry crumble/pie/vision but I just happened to be flicking through the Leon cookbook last night, and as by fate, came upon the recipe below.

Wedding Anniversary x

It's Chaz and my third wedding anniversary this week. The last three years have wizzed by so quickly. I guess looking back so much has happened but it still seems to have gone freakily fast. We've got married. Lived in France. Had the Cub. Moved back to England. Left London for the countryside. Got new jobs. My first book deal. And now there's another Cub on the way.
The actual wedding feels like yesterday but If I had one wish it might well be to have to whole day all over again...
